A cactus in San Francisco
admin | 2010-06-28We participated in WWDC 2010, the conference of Apple developers that took place in San Francisco during the first week of June.
Along with 5,118 others, we were present at the keynote address, in which Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone4. Media from all over the world covered this event, and we were there.
During the five days of the event, we participated in various discussions and sessions, in which we learned firsthand how to work with the Mac world.
We came back with a lot of ideas and the wish to share the experience with you, beginning with this summary and some photos.

Be a cactus FIFA World Cup
admin | 2010-06-23Cactus at the South Pole
admin |Two teams, one goal. With this slogan, the American Museum of Natural History of New York prepared its exhibit of the first two expeditions to reach the South Pole, in 1911.
For this exhibit, our task was to design the micro site that tells about how each of these expeditions to the Antarctic was prepared and carried out and invites the public to the museum. The main figures of this story are Amudsen and Scott, the leaders of these first expeditions, whose centennial is approaching.
We’ve made available an innovative and interactive gallery of outstanding photos from the micro site. Click here to see it.

A cactus in the road
admin | 2009-12-02Traveling the Silk Road, the exhibition on the ancient commercial and cultural route between East and West, opened on November 14 at the American Museum of National History in New York.
Once again Cactus was approached by the AMNH and asked to develop an online experience that would provide information on the show in a way that would prompt people to visit the exhibit in person.
With this premise in mind, we created a travel journal that takes the online visitor on a journey through four of the main cities along this ancient Asian route as it provides information on the different cultures and their customs.
The microsite also has a trivia section where the visitor can test the knowledge acquired in his or her “journey” through the site for a chance to win tickets to one of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project performances.
Experience the wonder for yourself. Take a trip along this mysterious route full of riches and discoveries.

Presentation by Cactus in Areatres
admin | 2009-11-05The people at Areatres invited us to a networking session so we could introduce Cactus. To a sizeable audience, Sebastián Polacek spoke about three Cactus happenings: the American Museum of Natural History, Bayer and Fremantle. He also introduced people to the new website and the new web application for cell phones. The session ended with a friendly question-and-answer period between Sebastián and listeners, who were very interested in recent events at Cactus.
